Important Information About Luxembourg City Luxembourg is a city with its own language known as Luxembourgish. However, the city is also bilingual in French and German. The city has many attractions due to its combination of language and culture. Since the country is surrounded by French and German-speaking countries, it is not surprising that these two languages have been included. They eventually moved to other languages like Spanish and Italian.

Luxembourg is the only country ruled by a Grand Duke which makes it an attractive place to visit.

Explore the old city of Luxembourg
The Old City of Luxembourg is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the most beautiful places in the country. Take a walk through the winding streets, the huge buildings of the past and the picturesque squares. This includes the Passage du Palais which takes you through an old passage that looks like an old town.
Notre Dame Cathedral is a beautiful modern cathedral named after the Cathedral of Paris, which has stunning stained glass windows. The interior of the cathedral is as impressive as the exterior. A tower has been burnt down and repaired. They also made an addition to expand the church so that it could actually get the title of a cathedral.
Location Guillame II
It is one of the most beautiful squares in Luxembourg City and one of the busiest. The square is full of fountains, sculptures and flower beds. This is a great place to see people in the park or just relax. There you will see the equestrian statue of Grand Duke William II, a copper statue that has turned green with age. Grand Duke William II who brought independence to Luxembourg.
Although it is the main palace, the Duke does not technically live here, but he works here. However, it is guarded by guards who make a formal change to guards like in London. Sometimes where on the porch, people will gather around when there is a special ceremony in the palace when the family makes a formal introduction to the people.
The palace is open to the public for travel, and you can explore the magnificent rooms, learn about the history of the country and see some incredible art. You can take some tours of these beautiful palaces during the summer months while Grand Duke is on vacation. This is probably one of the best things to see in Luxembourg.
Buck Cassette is a series of tunnels and underground passages that were once used as storage and living quarters. At the bottom of the upper fort consists of 23 kilometers (14 miles) of tunnels 40 meters (130 feet) deep, which included not only 25 artillery slots but also stables, storehouses, workshops, kitchens, bakeries, slaughterhouses and 1200 barracks. The Monument of Remembrance is a war memorial in the Place de la Constitution. The monument is shaped like an obelisk and made of black granite. It is engraved with the names of those who died in Luxembourg’s resistance movement during World War I, World War II, and World War II.

Or, if you are not a fan of cold weather, you can always visit one of the many museums or art galleries located in the city. There are a variety of shops and restaurants to keep you busy, so don’t bother for a minute!

It’s free, easy and efficient, thanks to the city’s public transport system. If you live in the city center, you will probably find that walking is the best way to get around. But if you are planning to explore something outside the city, you need to take advantage of the public transport system.
Parking in Luxembourg City
If you are planning to rent a car, be aware that parking can be difficult to find and some can be quite expensive. One of the best options is to park your car in one of the suburban park and ride facilities and take public transport to the center.
However, the city is quite walkable so if you want to park in the city, I recommend parking at the Le Royal Hotel.

There are many places to eat in Luxembourg, but many of them are tourist traps and quite expensive. There were a few that our tour guide suggested we try to eat and so I’m going to list these locations. The best restaurants in Luxembourg will be on offer. Many of them may need a reservation, especially on a busy weekend. Only one restaurant serves some of Luxembourg’s specialties.
