Recent TripIt data show that about one-third of Americans are heading to Europe for Memorial Day weekend এবং and this is just the beginning of the summer travel season. In fact, as the epidemic subsides, more and more people are returning to Europe for similar personal and business trips.
But soon there will be a new requirement for travel planners in Europe. From next year, many non-European citizens, including Americans, will have to apply for a visa waiver and get approval — that is, an ETIAS travel permit — to go.
Haven’t heard of an ETIAS travel authorization, or are unsure about the process for applying for one? No worries! You can find all the necessary details below.
What is ETIAS?
The European Travel Information and Authorization System, or ETIAS, is a visa waiver program developed by the European Union (EU). The program was designed to protect the Shenzhen area অর্থাৎ that is, 26 European countries that have adopted a common visa policy and eliminated the need for passports or border controls থেকে from visitors outside the region. By requiring visitors to register, the European Union will be able to better identify any potential threats or risks related to travelers coming to the region.
By early 2023, all visitors অর্থাৎ that is, tourists and business travelers যাদের who do not need a visa to enter Europe will need to apply for an ETIAS travel permit. An exact effective date has not yet been announced.
What is an ETIAS travel authorization?
ETIAS Travel Approval is a visa waiver, similar to the US Electronic System for Travel Authorization (ESTA) visa waiver. All eligible visitors (i.e., those who do not require a visa) will be expected to present an approved ETIAS when traveling to any country in the Shenzhen region.
The approved ETIAS visa waiver will be valid for three years, and will allow people to enter the Shenzhen area for up to 90 days within the 180-day period.
How do I apply for an ETIAS Travel Approval?
To apply for an ETIAS travel permit, you must have a valid passport, internet access, and a financial way to pay the fee.
The cost of an ETIAS has not yet been announced (but you can see when it will be back here). Travelers will have to pay the cost of ETIAS when they complete their online application.
In addition to a fee, travelers must provide their personal information, and answer questions about the country they want to enter and public health risks, disclose any criminal history, as well as whether they have been previously denied. Ordered to enter or leave a member state.
Applications should take about 10 minutes to complete and most applicants will receive their approval within minutes
Which country do I need an ETIAS travel authorization to enter?
You will need an ETIAS to travel to any member country in the Shenzhen area of Europe.
Currently, it includes Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Norway, Norway, Poland Slovakia, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland, as well as the microstates of San Marino, Vatican City and Monaco.
